1. Go to privacy.instacart.com (or Shopper app → Settings → Account → Privacy).
2. Request "Access my personal information" as a shopper.
3. They email a download link — often within days, up to 45 by law.
4. Drop any CSV from that export on 📄 above — Carrot maps the columns automatically.

Car cost is an all-in planning proxy for gas, maintenance and depreciation. Carrot applies 72.5¢/mi through Jun 30 and 76¢/mi from Jul 1 for 2026 unless you enter a custom rate. Source: IRS Announcement 2026-11. Confirm your deduction method with a tax professional.
Your car — true cost engine
Variable ¢/mile = fuel + class-and-age maintenance + the mileage share of depreciation; it prices every batch. Fixed $/day = payment + insurance + registration + the time share of depreciation; it's the daily nut tracked in Money. MPG and class auto-fill from an on-device table of common gig cars — every number stays editable.

Press while Instacart is open: the verdict speaks over the screen — no app switch at all. With 3 batches showing, it ranks them: “Best is batch 2 at 24 dollars an hour — take it.”
Optional URL switch: add &brief=1 for Sprint mode (five-word verdicts: “Take batch 2. 41 an hour.”). Your life floor and personal profile ride along automatically once set. Use it: keep Instacart on screen → press and hold the Action Button → hear the verdict. If Carrot says it can only see the map, confirm step 3 reads Cropped Image, not the original screenshot. You can also say “Siri, Carrot Turbo.” No Action Button? Map the same shortcut to Accessibility → Touch → Back Tap → Double Tap.
Install as an app
iPhone (iOS 26): open this page in Safari → Share ⬆︎ → Add to Home Screen → leave Open as Web App on → Add. Launch the Carrot icon for the clean standalone view.
Android: Chrome menu ⋮ → Add to Home screen.
A normal Safari tab keeps Safari's controls; only the Home Screen icon opens the app-style view. During a tracked shift, Carrot requests that the screen stay awake when the browser and connection allow it.
Best first step: install before entering real data. If you already started in Safari, make a JSON backup there, then restore it after launching the Home Screen app.
Carrot updates
When an update is ready, tap again to install it. Carrot reloads once and keeps your local data. Home Screen name or icon changes can still require removing and re-adding the icon.
Data
Carrot keeps rotating on-device snapshots before important changes. They are not cloud backups and disappear if Safari/site data is erased. Demo mode uses a separate storage vault and never enters real analytics or taxes.
AES-GCM portable files can move the exact mission and settlement state to another device. Carrot cannot recover a forgotten passphrase. Automatic cross-device sync is not enabled in this private static build.
